A founder's guide to launching an AI sales agent

A step-by-step method you can run this week. No theory you cannot action.

Who this is for

Teams selling through DMs who want a repeatable process rather than ad-hoc replies. It assumes you have at least one channel connected and a rough idea of your offer.

The method

1. Map the entry points. List every place a conversation can start — a reel, an ad, a comment, a website visit — and write the first message the agent should send for each.
2. Write the qualifying questions. Three at most. Budget, timeline and fit. The agent weaves them into conversation rather than interrogating.
3. Handle the two objections you always get. Usually price and trust. Draft the re-frame once and let the agent reuse it.
4. Make booking frictionless. Offer two concrete slots inside the chat. No link, no form.
5. Follow up on a schedule. Most closed deals come from the second or third nudge, not the first reply.

A worked example

A prospect opens with 'how much?'. The agent answers plainly, then asks what outcome they are after, screens fit, and offers a Tuesday or Thursday slot. If they go quiet, it follows up after two days with a specific, useful message rather than 'just checking in'.

Common mistakes

Writing instructions that are too generic, asking for the sale too early, and turning off follow-ups because they feel pushy. Follow-ups that add information convert; nagging does not.
